A hyperbaric oxygen chamber typically consists of a chamber body, an air supply and exhaust (oxygen) system, an air conditioning system, and a control system.

The pressurizing medium is air or medical oxygen. The maximum working pressure for air pressurization is no greater than 0.3 MPa, and the maximum working pressure for oxygen pressurization is no greater than 0.2 MPa.

Air pressurization chambers are classified as single-person or multi-person chambers depending on the number of patients.

Oxygen pressurization chambers are for one person only and are typically classified as adult medical oxygen chambers or infant (including newborn) medical oxygen chambers.

A hyperbaric oxygen chamber is a specialized medical device for hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Based on the pressurizing medium, it is divided into air pressurization chambers and pure oxygen pressurization chambers.

Hyperbaric oxygen chambers have a wide range of applications, primarily used clinically for the treatment of anaerobic infections, carbon monoxide poisoning, air embolism, decompression sickness, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, traumatic brain injury, and cerebrovascular diseases.
